I am in hopes that some pirates may have been arrested in Lappa or on board steamers sailing from liacao to Canton. The Chinese stated to r.Hallifax that they would find means of dealing with Lappa, but gave no indication of what steps they proposed to take.

I have offered rewards of $500 each for the arrest of the 4 ringleaders of the gang which raided Cheung

Chau.
